Open MRI
Open MRI has no long tunnels or narrow tubes. Because so many people suffer from claustrophobia, the advent of the Open MRI has made a once difficult procedure much easier and more relaxing.
The Midwest Vascular Institute at Hopedale Medical Complex was the first facility in Central Illinois to offer Open MRI (Open Resonance Imaging) service.
Open MRI allows us to see inside the body without the use of X-rays. The best diagnosis can be made from the MRI images created.
An anesthesiologist is on hand to provide medications, as IVs may be necessary for administration of contrast materials and sedation.
If you'd like to learn more, or if you are ready to schedule an appointment, contact the Radiology Department at 309-449-4230.
Our mobile MRI will be available on Wednesday's as of 12/1/10.
