HMC would be pleased to bill your commercial insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid for services rendered. For those without any type of medical coverage, please contact our patient Financial Services Counselor at 309-449-4380 to discuss our Financial Assistance Program or payment options.

For those with commercial insurance such as Blue Cross, United Healthcare, etc., it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to pay the balance due HMC even if a dispute arises over insurance  coverage or if insurance coverage is denied. Therefore, it’s always best to call and speak to your insurance provider about your plan’s coverage before services are rendered, and HMC representatives are also available to assist you with “pre-certification” if needed. (If you do call your plan, be sure to take notes and get the name of the representative to whom you spoke.)

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING COLLECTING DOWNPAYMENT

AT TIME OF OUTPATIENT SERVICES

Effective April 1, 2011, Hopedale Medical Complex will be instituting a new payment policy similar to most doctors and dentists’ offices. Beginning in April, all non-Emergency Room OUTpatients who are covered by federal programs (including Medicare) or who have commercial health insurance will be asked to pay all or a portion of their deductible and co-pay at the time services are rendered. All other outpatients (except Illinois Medicaid) will be asked to make a partial payment of their bill before leaving. If a patient receiving outpatient services is unable to pay the entire requested sum, the SERVICES WILL STILL BE PROVIDED. The patient will then be asked to visit with a Patient Financial Services representative to discuss setting up an installment payment plan or perhaps applying for free or discounted services under HMC’s financial assistance program.

This new policy applies to OUTPATIENT SERVICES ONLY and will mean less time and money spent by HMC personnel (postage, phone calls, etc.) on billing matters. Please note that discussion of patient account information is protected under HIPAA and will be done on an individualized confidential basis. As a charitable organization, HMC wants to assure you that your inability to pay the requested fee at the time of service will in no way compromise your care!

Please also remember that it is important that you provide us with updated, accurate demographic (name, address, etc.) and insurance information at each visit to HMC. If you have questions or concerns about our new policy, please feel free to call our Patient Financial Services Director at (309) 449-4008 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

We sincerely appreciate your patronage and cooperation.

Except for HMOs, HMC accepts virtually all insurance plans. And, if we are not ‘in network’ with your plan, we are willing to negotiate rates, and many times we will match your “in network” provider’s coverage. All requests to “match” in- network coverage must be made before our services are rendered, except in the case of Emergency Room services.

Listed below are the plans for which Hopedale Hospital is IN NETWORK. If your insurance provider is not listed below, we invite you to call our Financial Assistance Counselor, Jill Litwiller, at 309-449-4380, to discuss a possible “match” to handle your claim as though you are “in network”. We will do our best to accommodate you.

Even though HMC is “in-network” with the following companies, it is still recommended that you have us contact your plan’s representative to verify that you are eligible, and to get an estimate what your responsibility will be for the balance of your bill.
